Competition Rules
1. Teams must consist of 6 people.
2. All climbers must be over the age of seven.
3. Any height that is to be counted towards the team’s total must be gained by a complete climb of the wall in question – partial climbs will not be counted.
4. Prizes will be given out in the following categories:
- Highest Adult Team
- Highest Under 16 Team
- Highest Corporate Team
- Biggest Fundraising Team
For a team to qualify as Under 16, they must all be under 16.
5. Climbers must be dressed appropriately, including the correct use of safety equipment. Please do not wear skirts, tight clothing, or anything that restricts movement. Climbing shoes will be provided for adults; children and adults not wishing to wear climbing shoes should wear trainers. Manchester Climbing Centre will provide all safety equipment.
6. Each team will be assigned a climbing instructor. This instructor is responsible for the safety of that team, and therefore has the authority to stop a session should the behaviour or capabilities of the team pose a threat to the safety of themselves or others.
7. Climbers must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while taking part in this event. Anyone thought to be will be will not be allowed to climb.
8. Climbers must arrive at MCC 20 minutes before the start of their climbing session. Any teams arriving late will not be allowed to extend their climbing time as sessions will be running back-to-back.
9. All climbers must complete the relevant MCC paperwork before beginning their climb. This is the Adult Registration Form for over 18’s, and the Under 18’s Registration Form and Consent Form (signed by parent or guardian) for children.
